Ted Grant was elected November 2, 2012 as Vice-Chairman of the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Council.

Ted Grant was elected November 2, 2012 as Vice-Chairman of the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Council.

Mr. Grant has worked many jobs with the Otoe-Missouria Tribe over the years including: construction labor, security officer, bingo caller, Conservation Officer, Director of the Otoe-Missouria Gaming Commission, surveillance and security. He also served as the Chief of Police and Chief Bailiff for the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Court for 12 years. He is a strong believer in taking care of elders and children.

His blood lineage comes from the Buffalo Clan of our people. He is the son of the late William “Bill” Grant and Adah Mae Cerre Grant. His grandfather was Frank Grant and his grandmother was Fannie Moore Grant. He and his wife Teresa have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grand children. They have been married for 42 years.

The Vice Chairman belongs to the First Born Church of the Otoe-Missouria Chapter and is a member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Sweat Lodge. He is one of the original founders of the Red Rock Creek Gourd Dancers and also a member of the Kiowa Gourd Clan. He was raised with the traditional values of our people which play a very important part in his life as well as his family.
